Michael Sweeney

Mr. Mike Sweeney was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, and as a child relocated to Anaheim, California. He was raised in Anaheim and attended Mater Dei High School prior to going to Saint Martins College in Washington State.

Mr. Sweeney and his wife Maureen have lived in south Ontario since 1978, and have raised eight children, all of whom were educated in the Mountain View School District. Mr. Sweeney was one of the founding fathers of Ontario Mountain View Little League and also founded the baseball program at Colony High School.  He is a past president of the Mountain View School District Board of Trustees and has served on the Ontario City Parks and Recreation Commission.

Mr. Sweeney has been a member of the Board of Trustees in the Mountain View School District since February 1996. His vision for Mountain View School District is to continue to be progressive in nature and offer students learning opportunities that will serve them well in the future. He supports the concept of technology being an integral part of the curriculum as students prepare for real world experiences. His philosophy of management is that organizational goals are best accomplished through teamwork, and leadership should support the concept of working together. He is a strong proponent of the Renaissance program and feels education should be concerned about the whole student.

Mr. Sweeney's term in office expires on November 30, 2018.
