Home Energy-Saving Tips

•Install a programmable thermostat to lower utility bills and manage your heating and cooling systems efficiently.

•Turn things off when you are not in the room such as lights, TVs, entertainment systems, and your computer and monitor.

•Plug home electronics, such as TVs and DVD players, into power strips; turn the power strips off when the equipment is not in use -- TVs and DVDs in standby mode still use several watts of power.

•Look for the ENERGY STAR® label on light bulbs, home appliances, electronics, and other products.

MVSD receives the Energy Excellence Award from Cenergistic!

Congratulations Mountain View School District for surpassing $1.5 million in energy savings. The Energy Excellence Award is for Cenergistic clients who have reached a significant savings milestone, generally $1 million, or more. The award celebrates a solid, sustainable conservation program and the support and cooperation of administration, faculty, and staff.

Additionally, each MVSD building received ENERGY STAR Certification. This is tremendous and a true testament to the hard work of the faculty, staff and the entire district.

Great job everyone!

It Takes a Team..

Tips for your home...Tankless water heaters allow users to shave 20 percent off their water bill. In addition to lasting five to 10 years longer than tank heaters, tankless heaters never run out of hot water. Plus, you get a federal tax rebate if you purchase one, according to Energy Star. @MVSDEnergy
