CPR & FIRST AID

CPR and First Aid are important skills to have as a citizen. However, neither the state nor the district mandate that all employees receive training in these areas. Employees who are mandated to complete the training must do so every 24 months.

Mandated CPR and First Aid Trainings may be completed in one of three methods:

1. Complete the (3) Online Modules of CPR, First Aid 1 and First Aid 2 for a total of 3 hours and pass all 3 tests with 70%.

This method is fully paid by the district. You do not pay for this method. You can access the course via any computer, tablet or from the employee computer kiosk at each school site.

2. Complete a "live" classroom training. CPR is 4.5 hours and First Aid is 4 hours. These "live" courses can be taken at Chaffey Adult School. Classes are held evenings from 4:00 to 8:30pm. The courses are $50 each and the employee will not be reimbursed. You can choose this method if you are not comfortable with the online method. Chaffey Adult School has classes in August, October, January an April of each year. Click here for Chaffey Adult School.

3. Find a training on your own in CPR and First Aid and provide the district with verification of completion. You will not be reimbursed for any costs related to this method.

Most employee CPR and First Aid certifications will need to be renewed by October 15, 2016.
