Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee

The Mountain View School District, through the successful passage of Measure W in April 2015, established School Facilities District No. 2 (SFID No. 2).  As a result, the District is able to issue up to $171,000,000 in general obligation bonds to support the construction of new schools within SFID No. 2.
 
Pursuant to Measure W, The District establishes an Independent Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee. The purposes of the Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee are outlined in detail, in the Board of Trustees adopted BYLAWS. The primary duties of the Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee are to review and report on the issuance and expenditure of Measure W related bond funds. 
 
The Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee consists of at least seven (7) members, appointed by the Board of Trustees. The committee shall be made up of the following members: 
 
  • One (1) member who is a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District. 
  • One (1) member who is both parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District AND is active in a parent-teacher organization, such as the PTA or School Site Council.
  • One (1) member who is active in a business organization representing the business community located in the District.
  • One (1) member who is active in a senior citizens' organization.
  • One (1) member who is active in a bona-fide taxpayers association.
  • Two (2) member of the community at-large.
