ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

The department of Administrative Services is under the direction of Assistant Superintendent Jeremy Currier, and oversees all areas related to personnel (human resources), school safety, energy management, maintenance & operations, and facilities. 

 

SUMMARY OF GOALS

•    Recruitment and retention of high quality employees for all district positions
•    Support the greater MVSD Vision and Mission through departmental best practices
•    Support district-wide instructional programs through the maintenance of quality staff and facilities

Jeremy Currier has worked in education since 1996.  He has worked for the Mountain View School District since 2006.  During that time, he has served as Principal of both Mountain View Elementary School and Grace Yokley Junior High School.  Jeremy has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services since 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. As Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, he oversees Human Resources, Facilities, and Student Services for the district.

Joanna Juarez was a preschool director in Ontario, CA for 14 years, before joining Mountain View School District in May 2019 as a Food Service Assistant. In August 2019, she transitioned to Paraeducator: SDC at Creek View Elementary, where she left a lasting impact on students and staff. In July 2021, Joanna became an Attendance Records Technician at Creek View Elementary, ensuring efficient management of crucial records. Joanna was promoted to Administrative Assistant to Administrative and Business Services at the District Office in May 2022, where she facilitates Risk Management, employee trainings, volunteers, and facilities-related duties.

Sydney Kallal earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from California State University Fullerton in 2021. She worked as an HR Technician at Central School District before joining Mountain View School District in January 2022 as an Administrative Assistant. Sydney transitioned to the role of HR Specialist in May 2022. Her primary duties encompass employee leave management, credential analysis, onboarding, recruitment, assisting with state reporting, and maintenance of employee records.

Restraint and Seclusion Data

Data Collection

The CDE collected restraint and seclusion data for the first time from local educational agencies (LEAs) as part of the 2019–20 CALPADS End-of-Year (EOY) 3 annual data submission. In preparation for this data collection, the CDE directed LEAs to start collecting these data locally beginning in fall 2019 for submission to CALPADS from May to September 2020. To accommodate the collection of these data, the CALPADS student discipline data files were modified to include the collection of the following behavioral restraint and seclusion data, which are defined in EC section 49005.1:

  • Mechanical Restraint: Use of a device or equipment to restrict a pupil's freedom of movement (with exceptions).
  • Physical Restraint: A personal restriction that immobilizes or reduces the ability of a pupil to move his or her torso, arms, legs, or head freely (with exceptions).
  • Seclusion: The involuntary confinement of a pupil alone in a room or area from which the pupil is physically prevented from leaving.
