Electronic Flyer Approval and Distribution Process

ABOUT PEACHJAR

Peachjar unites schools, parents and communities in their joint mission to elevate student outcomes and increase parent engagement. Peachjar's cloud-based communication platform streamlines school-to-home communication by distributing vital school updates and community resources directly to parents as digital flyers.

Mountain View School District has partnered with Peachjar in "going green" beginning in the 2019-20 school year.

FLYER DISTRIBUTION

Our district cooperates with approved community partners by posting digital flyers online and distributing online and distributing them electronically through our service provider, Peachjar. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, we have transitioned from paper to electronic flyer delivery.

To request flyer approval, follow the steps below. Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to all parents and posted online. Paper flyers from outside organizations will no longer be distributed.

  • Visit www.peachjar.com
  • Register as a Program Provider (account type)
  • Upload your flyer for approval

Your flyer will be automatically submitted to the district office. District staff will review the material and approve or deny based on the standards below. Peachjar charges a fee for this service that is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers to each school.

FLYER DISTRIBUTION GUIDELINES

Outside flyers must meet the following guidelines:

  • Support the basic educational mission of the district, directly benefit the students, or be of intrinsic value to the students or their parents/guardians.
  • Should not imply Mountain View School District's endorsement of any identified product and/or of services.
  • Should not be lewd, obscene, libelous, or slanderous.
  • Should not incite students to commit unlawful acts, violate school rules, or disrupt the orderly operation of the schools.
  • Should not promote any particular political interest, candidate, party, or ballot measure, unless the candidates or advocates from all sides are provided the opportunity to present their views to the students during school hours or during scheduled events.
  • Should not discriminate against, attack or denigrate any groups on account of gender, race, age, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability or other unlawful consideration.
  • Should not promote the use or sale of materials or services that are illegal or inconsistent with school objectives, including, but not limited to, materials or advertisements for tobacco, intoxicants, and movies or products unsuitable for children.

Restraint and Seclusion Data

California Department of Education

Data Collection

The CDE collected restraint and seclusion data for the first time from local educational agencies (LEAs) as part of the 2019–20 CALPADS End-of-Year (EOY) 3 annual data submission. In preparation for this data collection, the CDE directed LEAs to start collecting these data locally beginning in fall 2019 for submission to CALPADS from May to September 2020. To accommodate the collection of these data, the CALPADS student discipline data files were modified to include the collection of the following behavioral restraint and seclusion data, which are defined in EC section 49005.1:

  • Mechanical Restraint: Use of a device or equipment to restrict a pupil's freedom of movement (with exceptions).
  • Physical Restraint: A personal restriction that immobilizes or reduces the ability of a pupil to move his or her torso, arms, legs, or head freely (with exceptions).
  • Seclusion: The involuntary confinement of a pupil alone in a room or area from which the pupil is physically prevented from leaving.

The chart below reflects data for the 2024-2025 school year.
